As an oil painter, I explore the intersection of pop culture, humor, and surrealism in my work. By incorporating familiar and iconic elements of contemporary culture, I aim to create a sense of familiarity and accessibility, while using humor to disarm and engage the viewer. My paintings often depict an alternate world, where the laws of physics and logic are suspended and the impossible becomes possible. In this world, I create scenarios that address real world issues and emotions, while offering a sense of escape and fantasy. Through this mix of fantasy and reality, I seek to create a space where viewers can confront and process their own experiences in a new and unexpected way. At the heart of my work is a deep fascination with the power of images and their ability to shape our perceptions and experiences. I use this power to challenge and subvert cultural norms, reinventing our shared visual language in unexpected and thought-provoking ways. Ultimately, my goal is to create a body of work that is as engaging as it is challenging, encouraging viewers to think critically about the world around them.
